Quasars provided enterprise integration support to the U.S. Treasury for the development and implementation of its collaboration and knowledge management system across the IRS enterprise to over 90,000 users. This system eliminated the use of independent legacy systems which were functionality and technically inconsistent. The use of a single system provided Treasury staff universal access to a modern collaboration system and significantly simplified maintenance and training while minimizing software licensing and operational costs for the Treasury. Upon deployment and implementation, the Treasury benefited from the automation and fundamental reengineering of its business processes for collaboration among its employees.
This effort included gap analysis, risk assessment, financial analysis, and requirement analysis services. Other services Quasars provided to the Treasury have included business process reengineering, system design alternative studies, COTS application development, enterprise application integration, data migration and integration, acquisition support, and architecture validation and verification.
The Treasury received an e-Business award from the Executive Branch resulting from this effort.
