Quasars Wins 2011 DHS Small Business Achievement Award

Small Business Achievement Award Details

Quasars, a woman-owned small business incorporated in Maryland, is honored to announce that it was selected by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to receive the 2011 DHS Small Business Achievement Award for its outstanding work in support of the DHS mission. With offices in Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia, Quasars provides professional engineering and information technology support services to the federal government. Ms. Sandhya Bachu, President of Quasars, accepted the award from Dr. Nick Nayak, DHS Chief Procurement Officer, at the 7th annual DHS Small Business Ceremony in Washington, D.C. Quasars was recognized for work performed for the Transportation Security Administration’s Office of Security Technology in 2010. The notable project for this award is a Professional Engineering Services contract, in support of enhanced security technologies designed to provide a safe travel environment. In announcing the award, DHS stated that "Quasars performed above and beyond expectations in providing specialized engineering support" to the Transportation Security Administration. Quasars President Sandhya Bachu added, “We thank our clients at DHS for nominating us for this prestigious award. We’re proud of our team’s expertise, hard work and commitment to excellence in performing on this important program.” Quasars is one of only two contractors at TSA and one of 16 contractors across DHS nationally to receive this award.

Quasars, Inc. has been recertified at CMMI Level II for Systems and Software Engineering by the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute.

Quasars, Inc. is proud to announce the opening of a 15,000 square foot satellite office in Crystal City, VA. This location will assist us in providing immediate support to our transportation and homeland security clients.

June 2010

Quasars, Inc. completed development and implementation of a suite of software tools for the FAA to assist in managing facility disposition. In other FAA news, Quasars, Inc. was awarded a new contract to provide configuration management support. FAA has been a valued customer of Quasars, Inc. since 1995.
